Abstract Submission
AIESEP 2025 - CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Abstract submission is now CLOSED (The extended deadline was September 22, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST). We anticipate notification of acceptance by December 20, 2024.
Participants are invited to submit abstract proposals for oral and poster presentations, as well as symposia for the 2025 AIESEP Conference. The theme of AIESEP 2025 is 'Making Waves: Transformative Practices in Physical Education'. The scientific program focuses on various disciplinary fields and perspectives. The submissions are categorized into the following themes:
Pedagogy in Health, Physical Education, Physical Activity, Coaching, and Sport
Inclusive Practices in Physical Education/Honoring Indigenous Knowledge
Policy and Advocacy in Physical Education
Physical Activity and Health Promotion
Assessment and Evaluation for Improved Outcomes
Innovations in Curriculum Design and Delivery
DESCRIPTION OF PRESENTATIONS:
Oral Presentation
In oral presentations, speakers will report recent findings in fundamental or applied research followed by a short discussion with the audience. Additional information regarding length of presentation and time for Q + A will be provided after acceptance.
Poster Presentation
Accepted poster abstracts will be converted into poster template by author(s) after acceptance. The selected posters will be presented in a poster session during the conference. More details about Poster Presentations will be provided after the acceptance.
Symposium
A symposium is a performance by 3-6 researchers under a certain topic or theme. A symposium is scheduled for 75 minutes. One possible structure of the symposium: The Chair of the Symposium introduces the Symposium background and theme (15 min), three presenters each have 15 minutes to present, and, in the end, Chair leads an open discussion (15 min).
GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:
Abstracts must be written in English within the scope of the themes. The abstracts are restricted to 3000 characters including spaces, main text, and the references. It may not contain any tables or figures and is restricted to ASCII-characters only. References (optional) in the text must be kept to a minimum and must be cited at the end of the abstract. Please include the title of the presentation, presenting author information, and the conference sub-theme in your submission.
The author may state the preference for the type of presentation (oral, poster, or symposium). However, the AIESEP Scientific Committee will make the final decision of the presentation format. The abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts before the conference. Deadline for Proposals for Symposiums, Oral, and Poster abstracts is September 15, 2024.
NOTE: Each author is allowed to present a maximum of two (2) abstracts. Each presenter needs to pay the registration fee before including the abstract in the abstract book. Deadline to pay the registration fee is May 2, 2025. Later registrations may lead to an exclusion of the abstract. Please note that this conference has a capacity. If you do not register prior to the conference hitting capacity, your abstract may be excluded from the conference. The receipt of your abstract submission will be confirmed by e-mail.
Guidelines for scientific abstract submission (Oral and Poster presentations)
The text of the abstract should include (without subheadings):
Aim of the study, case or project (preferably in one sentence)
A brief description of the methods used
A summary of the results obtained
A discussion / conclusion
Guidelines for Symposium proposal (Overall description and abstract submission)
1) The chair of the symposium will submit a symposium proposal (250 word maximum), which includes overall description of the Symposium:
Planned title for the Symposium
Topic / content of the Symposium
Reasons for why there should be a Symposium about this certain topic
2) Once the chair of symposium makes the initial submission of the symposium via the link provided, they will be able to invite their colleagues to submit and attach their abstracts. NOTE: When submitting the abstract for the Symposium choose “Presentation as part of a Symposium” as a presentation type and click attach to the specific symposium they were invited to.
Guidelines for Symposium abstract submission follows the guidelines for scientific abstract submission. Registration by the presenting author must be made by May 2, 2025 to guarantee publication in the Book of Abstracts! Later registrations may lead to an exclusion of the abstract.
